I am starting this project today. I just ordered a flatbed scanner in order to start scanning, when possible, all the documents and photos I have stacked next to my desk here. I also just set up this subdomain in order to put the photos I scan somewhere so other interested people can easily be granted access to the images and stories. Where I can, I will include any information of the people in the photos I upload, and what I can remember of the time the photo was taken, as well as allow the image on the page to link to a higher resolution photo for download. Be sure to go to that photo if you are downloading. I intend also to put a password on the blog pages, to keep some degree of privacy for the things kept here. Contact me directly if you need the password.
I expect that most of the things here will be of interest to my brothers and sisters, and to my children. I’ll do my best here to keep things together, and I will categorize according to family lines, in order to allow the reader to select a family linage to filter by. I don’t anticipate these categories to go very deep as I have a lot from the last century, and really want to focus on what is here next to my desk, so I can get it all put up somewhere safe. I also have a category called Editorial Notes, for posts such as this one, and notes on progress as I go, and so on. I really do expect this to take some time! I may even have to get a sheet fed document scanner to speed things up. I hope this all helps.
